Claire Galloway Weber is an avid linguist and proponent of presenting modern works alongside more standard opera and art song repertoire. In the 2017/2018 season, she will return to the Baltimore Musicales and debut with Bach in Baltimore.
In the spring of 2017, Ms. Weber joined the inaugural season of The Art Song Film Project, sang Amy in What Gets Kept by Frances Pollock at the New Music Gathering, and returned to the Baltimore War Memorial in a recital including Judith Weir’s “The Voice of Desire” and excerpts from Laura Kaminsky’s chamber opera As One.
Having performed roles in operas from Mozart and Massenet to Jonathan Dove and Frances Pollock, Ms. Weber has also performed as a soloist in oratorio works with the Peabody Concert Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, and Concert Artists of Baltimore. In addition, she has performed many of the standard art song repertory alongside works such as Daron Hagen’s “Sappho Songs,” Peter Lieberson’s “Neruda Songs,” and Matthew Triplett’s “I Promise to Be Good.”
Ms. Weber currently studies with Mark Schnaible after receiving her M.M. at Peabody Conservatory in Steven Rainbolt’s studio.
