Children’s Chorus of Carroll County is ever so grateful to those who established our chorus over 30 years ago in 1985, Idalea Rubin and Diane Jones. Our organization has grown from one chorus to four distinct choirs of varying size and ages, with over 100 members. Our mission is to provide an accessible, quality music education and choral experience for children in central Maryland. Furthermore, it is dedicated to serving the community and helping children develop attitudes that will perpetuate lifetimes of joyful singing. We hold two main concerts each year, compete and participate in festivals locally and internationally, enjoy caroling in Carroll County, refine our skills and performances during our Music Workshop Saturdays, and provide solo opportunities to deepen a youth’s music experience. We have an intern program, and several alumni have gone on to enjoy success in their music careers as educators and performers. Music is a lifelong friend and learning how to read and sing music not only helps children start a relationship with the incredible musical world around them, but also helps them discover more within themselves. Today, we are honored to perform with Bach in Baltimore and our two oldest choirs will combine to form Cantare Bel Canto with ages ranging between sixth and twelfth grade.
