We warmly seek experienced singers in limited opening available to perform with us in our 2023-2024 Season. The Bach in Baltimore Choir is a friendly group of talented singers who enjoy singing great choral music together.
Highlights include:
Handel Israel in Egypt
Bach Mass in B Minor
Bach Christmas Oratorio, Part V
And, Bach in Baltimore will continue to be the only ensemble in central Maryland presenting Bach’s cantatas with great regularity.
Rehearsals are Sundays at 5 pm (and one Tuesday a month at 7 pm) at Center for the Arts (from September to June).

TEN REASONS TO JOIN A CHOIR
TEN: The Bach in Baltimore Choir is seeking experienced singers for limited voice parts.
NINE: During the quarantine, you watched everything Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, and more had to offer, so now you are looking for something to do in the evenings. The Bach Choir rehearses every Sunday at 5pm and one Tuesday a month at 7:30pm.
EIGHT: You’ll build lasting relationship with a fantastic group of dedicated singers and musicians. Our choir is 40 members strong! Besides rehearsals, we perform at least once a month from October through June at 4pm.
SEVEN: You’ll be giving back to your community. In addition to our First Sunday Concerts, we perform FREE throughout the year at local retirement and nursing homes to appreciative audiences who would not otherwise be able to enjoy our concerts.
SIX: Singing is good for your health! It’s true. Research shows that those who sing are happier and healthier and live longer! Perhaps it’s because singing reduces stress, relaxes the nervous systems, and increases endorphins.
FIVE: Singing boosts confidence and self-esteem! Yep, researchers found that the act of singing is not only good for your health, it is empowering and good for your soul.
FOUR: You’ll be uplifting others with the power of music! Singing is just good for your health and wellbeing, music is powerful medicine that can uplift and improve the spirit of all who attend our concerts—last year that was over 5000 people.
THREE: The music of Johann Sebastian Bach rocks your world! And you’re also a huge fan of Handel, Vivaldi, Corelli, and more. When you sing with the Bach Choir, you get to sing all of the Baroque choral masters.
TWO: T. Herbert Dimmock! Our music director and maestro is considered one of the foremost Baroque experts in the country, and his conducting credits include nearly all the oratorios and anthems of Handel, all the major Bach works, and 160 Bach Cantatas. He has conducted the music of Bach in the U.S., Germany, Canada, and England, working with many of the world’s most accomplished singers and instrumentalists. When you sing with Bach, you sing with the best.
