Bach in Baltimore’s 39th season explores the drama, spiritual depth, and expressive brilliance of the Baroque era and beyond, centered on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. From Ein feste Burg and the Christmas Oratorio to the St. John Passion, Bach’s music unites faith and artistry. Handel’s Saul and concerti, Vivaldi and Telemann’s instrumental works, and later masterpieces by Beethoven and Brahms extend his legacy. These performances trace enduring questions of life, death, and transcendence through music that remains both deeply personal and universally resonant across centuries.
