EMERGING ARTISTS

PROGRAM MISSION

Arguably the biggest challenge facing professional musicians as they leave universities and conservatories is securing their first professional positions in a famously competitive, field.  With generous support from the Paul M. Angell Foundation, we launched our Emerging Artists Program to help young talents establish their professional careers

  1. Performance Opportunities with an Established Concert Series

The Emerging Artists Program affords each musician multiple performance opportunities throughout our Season. Some will be at our First Sunday concert series with a full professional orchestra and paying audience, others will be concerts of arias and art-song in retirement communities as part of Bach in Baltimore’s established Community Outreach Program.

  1. Build Artistic Resumes & CVs for Future Opportunities

Through these concerts, artists will be given the opportunity to design and present programs in areas of particular interest to them, affording them unique chances to build their programming resumes and employ their individual creativity in a supportive environment. Each musician will be able to list multiple works in which they were a featured soloist. Additionally, for those musicians who wish to pursue a niche of special interest to them, Bach in Baltimore will make program choices to help enable that pursuit.

  1. Cultivation of Professional Relationships

Networking is a key element of any young singer’s career-building. Our program will help talents find and build professional relationships which will lead to additional work. Coaching will be provided by Maestro Dimmock, Founder & Music Director of Bach in Baltimore, who will also facilitate introductions to other performing ensembles and has even helped talents find Agents to represent them.
